How to Make My Twas the Night Before Christmas Mini Album

After a ton of editing and mistakes, I have finally uploaded Part 1 of remaking my Graphic 45 Christmas Mini Album. Part 1 covers the base of the mini: cover, binding, pocket pages and inserts. Part 2 will cover the decorating and all the flaps and pockets.

Materials:

Chipboard

Twas the Night Before Christmas Paper (I used a 12×12 paper pad) you may be able to get away with 2 sheets of each design

cardstock (about 20 sheets)

magnets (14-16)

2 Tim Holtz ring fasteners

decorative edge punch

score board and bone folder

adhesives of choice

tyvek (optional)

For those who want the measurements written out for part one, here they are:

Chipboard Cover:

8″ x 5.75″ (2)

2″ x 5.75″ spine

Pocket Pages and Inserts:

Original used 12×12 cardstock cut to 7 1/2″ x 11 1/2″; score at 5 1/2″ and 11″  Final dimensions once folded and glued: 7.5 x 5.5

Remake uses letter size cut to 7 1/2″ x 11″; score at 5 3/8″ and 10 3/4″ Final dimensions 7.5 x 5.375  (very similar)

Booklet Inserts: Cut cardstock to 7 1/4″ by 10 1/4, score and fold at 5 1/8″

Binding:

Hinge Binding system like the Eerie Tale and Romance Binding Tutorial you will use the following:

Cardstock- 5 1/4″ x 10″ if using pages from letter size paper, 5 3/8″ x 10 would be better for 12×12 paper if making your pockets exactly 5 1/2 x 7 1/2

Score: 2″, 2.5, 3, 3.25, 3.75, 4.25, 4.5, 5, 5.5, 5.75, 6.25, 6.75, 7, 7.5, 8

(optional) Tyvek about 5″ x 8″

New Binding (Combo Hinge/Stack the Deck):

Cardstock cut to 5 1/4 x 5 or    5 3/8 x 5 if using 5 1/2″ pockets and you’re Type A ;)

Score: .5, .75, 1.25, 1.75, 2, 2.5, 2.75, 3.25, 3.75, 4, 4.5

optional Tyvek about 5×5

Second piece of Cardstock to “stack” cut to 5 1/4 x 2-2.25
